Swedish startups raised $1.31 billion in the first half of 2026, led by Lovable's $372M Series C and Neko Health. Here's the full ranking of the top 10 rounds.

When a Stockholm-based company like Lovable drops a $372 million Series C announcement, you sit up and pay attention. That's exactly what happened this week, and it got us thinking: what else is happening in Sweden's startup scene right now? Turns out, a lot. Sweden has quietly become one of Europe's most consistent producers of massive funding rounds, and 2026 is shaping up to be another banner year. From HealthTech and AI to FinTech, LegalTech, and consumer brands, Swedish startups are pulling in serious money across every sector you can imagine. For this ranking, we dug through EU-Startups' funding coverage from January 1 through August 14, 2026. We looked at Swedish startups and scale-ups based purely on the size of their announced or completed funding rounds during that window. To keep things fair, we left out VC fund closes, acquisitions, grants, loans, and credit facilities. If a company announced an extension to an earlier round, we only counted the new capital raised in 2026. Here's the headline: the ten biggest rounds together represent roughly $1.31 billion in funding. The two giants—Neko Health and Lovable—account for about 79% of that total. And if you're sensing a pattern, you're right: eight of the ten companies are headquartered in Stockholm. ### The Heavy Hitters: Two Rounds That Changed Everything Before we get to the full list, it's worth pausing on those two massive raises. Neko Health and Lovable didn't just lead the pack; they redefined what's possible for Swedish startups. Together, they pulled in over $1 billion, which is a staggering figure for any European market. Lovable's $372 million Series C is particularly notable because it came out of nowhere this week. The company has been on a tear, and this round cements its position as one of Europe's most valuable AI startups. Neko Health, meanwhile, has been quietly building a health-tech empire that investors clearly believe in. ### The Full Ranking: Sweden's Top 10 Funding Rounds of 2026 Here's the complete list, from the smallest to the largest round in our ranking: #### 10. Lightbringer – $9.3 million Series A Malmö-based LegalTech startup Lightbringer raised $9.3 million in June to fuel its US expansion and push product development forward. The round was co-led by 6 Degrees Capital and Newion, two firms that clearly see potential in the legal software space. This follows their earlier $4.6 million round in 2024. #### 9. Bits – $13 million Series A Stockholm-based FinTech infrastructure company Bits locked in $13 million to ramp up automation across financial crime and compliance workflows. The funding will also help expand product capabilities and add more European data coverage. Alstin Capital led the round, with backing from Cherry Ventures, Unusual Ventures, and Alliance Ventures. #### 8. Pit – $14.7 million Pit came out of stealth in May with a $14.7 million raise led by Andreessen Horowitz—a name that carries serious weight in the VC world. Founded by former leaders from Voi, Klarna, and iZettle, Pit is building AI-native software for enterprise operations. Their pitch? An "AI product team as a service" model that could change how companies approach software development. #### 7. AlixLabs – $16.3 million Series A Lund-based semiconductor startup AlixLabs closed its $16.3 million Series A in the first quarter of 2026. The money is earmarked for accelerating product development, expanding technical capabilities, and strengthening ties with semiconductor manufacturers. Interestingly, most of the round—$15.3 million—was already subscribed back in November 2025 before the final close. #### 6. Quartr – $16.9 million Stockholm-based financial data company Quartr closed a $16.9 million round in August to speed up product development and expand its coverage of public-company data worldwide. Existing investor Altos Ventures led the funding, with SEB joining as a new backer. This follows earlier raises of $5.9 million in 2024 and $7.6 million in 2022. #### 5. Legora – $45.6 million Series D extension Legal AI company Legora announced $45.6 million in additional funding in April, extending its Series D to a total of $557 million and valuing the Stockholm-based company at $5.1 billion post-money. New investors included Atlassian and NVentures, NVIDIA's venture capital arm. For this ranking, we only counted the new capital announced in 2026. #### 4. Lassie – $68.6 million Series C Stockholm-based pet InsurTech Lassie raised $68.6 million in February to expand further across Europe and boost its AI capabilities. The round saw participation from Balderton Capital, Felix Capital, Inventure, Passion Capital, and Stena Sessan. It's a clear sign that investors see huge potential in the pet insurance market. ### What This Means for the European Startup Ecosystem So what does all this money actually tell us? A few things. First, Sweden isn't just a flash in the pan—it's consistently producing world-class startups that attract global investors. Second, the concentration in Stockholm suggests that the city has become a genuine tech hub, not just a nice place to visit. But here's the thing that really stands out: the diversity of sectors. LegalTech, FinTech, InsurTech, semiconductors, AI—Swedish startups are winning across the board. That's a sign of a mature ecosystem, not just a one-hit wonder. For anyone watching the European startup landscape, Sweden is clearly a market to keep an eye on. And with rounds like these, it's easy to see why.
