Stockholm-based Spiich raises $3.2M to let AI handle sales admin work, so reps can focus on customers. The startup's anti-automation bet is already showing results.

### A Stockholm Startup Bets That AI Shouldn't Replace Salespeople Stockholm-based Spiich just raised $3.2 million in seed funding (about €3 million), and the pitch is refreshingly contrarian. While plenty of AI sales tools are trying to automate the salesperson, Spiich is doing the opposite. It's building AI agents that take over the admin work—so reps can actually spend time with customers. The round comes just ten months after a $640,000 pre-seed, bringing total funding to $3.9 million. Ugly Duckling Ventures led the round, with new backers Alliance VC and Cherry Ventures joining. Ampli Ventures, which led the pre-seed, returned with a follow-on investment. Angels from Lovable, Neo4j, Tandem Health, and OpenAI also participated. ### Why Investors Bet on the Anti-Automation Play Louise Lachmann, General Partner at Ugly Duckling Ventures, explained the decision bluntly: "Every sales tool of the last decade promised to give reps their time back, and most of them delivered another system to keep updated. Spiich is the first we've seen that does the non-selling work rather than assisting with it." She added that what convinced them wasn't the demo but what happened after go-live: accounts expanding within weeks because teams kept finding more work to hand over. "Johan and Dennis pair engineering judgement well above their stage with a commercial instinct you rarely find in the same founding team. That's why we led the round." ### What Spiich Actually Does Founded in June 2025 by Johan Torssell and Dennis Hadzialic, Spiich builds AI agents that handle prospecting, meeting prep, CRM updates, and follow-up work. That's the stuff Salesforce estimates eats up 78% of a salesperson's time. Rather than trying to automate the salesperson, Spiich is making a bet that selling is fundamentally human. The company's thesis: if AI can absorb everything around the sale, humans can focus on building relationships that actually close deals. It seems to be working. Spiich now serves more than 50 customers across 15 countries in Europe, the US, and South America. Clients include NORNORM, ProfitMetrics, Zaver, Airmee, Rebaba, and Epiminds. ### The Results So Far - Doubled customer meetings - Cut prospecting time by 90% - Tripled market coverage - 100%+ month-on-month ARR growth in the first half of 2026 - 160%+ net revenue retention - Over 50,000 deals closed through the platform "Have you ever bought anything from an AI agent? Almost nobody has," said Torssell, co-founder and CEO. "You buy from someone you trust to deliver. Every deal I have ever closed came down to that. We didn't build Spiich to replace salespeople. We built it so they can finally sell." ### What's Next for Spiich The new funding will grow Spiich's engineering and go-to-market teams as it targets expansion across Europe. And like every other AI startup, Spiich is positioning itself as more than a productivity tool. Since it spans every meeting, email, internal note, and external signal tied to a customer relationship, Spiich aims to become a "system of intelligence and action" for the sales team. It's a bold vision. But if the early numbers are any indication, Spiich might just be onto something. The company is proving that the best use of AI in sales isn't to replace the human—it's to give them back the time to be human.
