Six Robotics, an Oslo-based DefenseTech company, just closed a $13.6M Seed round led by DTCP Defense. The funds will accelerate their autonomy software for unmanned systems, with a focus on swarm technology and partnerships with Norwegian defense organizations.
Six Robotics, an Oslo-based DefenseTech company, just closed a $13.6 million Seed round. The goal? Speed up the development of their autonomy software for unmanned systems. This is a big deal for European defense, and it shows how much money is flowing into this space right now.
### Who's Backing This?
DTCP led the round through DTCP Defense, a $543 million venture capital fund they launched recently. That fund is all about defense, security, and resilience tech. EIFO and Scale Capital also joined in, along with some private investors. So you've got a mix of specialized defense VCs and general tech investors all betting on Six Robotics.
### What the CEO Says
"Collaborative autonomy will define the next decade of defense. Europe cannot afford to depend on others for the software that defines what its forces can do. That is what Six Robotics is for, and this round is how we accelerate it," says Christian Fredrik Eggesbรธ, CEO and Founder of Six Robotics. He's basically saying Europe needs its own software-defined defense capabilities, not just hardware from other countries.
### The Bigger Picture
Six Robotics' Seed round comes at a time when European capital is pouring into DefenseTech, drone autonomy, and unmanned-systems infrastructure. In 2026 alone, we've seen a bunch of related rounds:
- Quantum Systems got a $163 million financing package in Germany
- Kelluu raised a $16.3 million Series A in Finland
- AirHub scored a $4.8 million Series A in the Netherlands
- Occam Industries pulled in a $3.3 million pre-Seed in the UK
- Mutable Tactics secured a $2 million pre-Seed in the UK
- PDKINEMATICS raised a $2.2 million Seed in Lithuania
- Acodyne got a $2.7 million pre-Seed in Denmark
- WaiV Robotics closed a $7 million Seed in the UK
- Shotling raised a $760k pre-Seed in Denmark
Add all those up, and you're looking at about $209 million in disclosed rounds. Including Six Robotics, that number jumps to around $222 million. That's a lot of money moving into this space.
### The Tech Behind It
"Software-defined autonomy and swarming at scale are among the most technically challenging areas in modern defense, and Six Robotics is one of the few European teams with the capability to build at this level. Their software-first approach enables interoperability across platforms while giving defense organisations greater operational flexibility. We have great trust in Christian Fredrik and the team, and look forward to the journey ahead," adds Ole Aguirre, partner at DTCP Defense.
Six Robotics was founded in 2023. They build advanced autonomy software for unmanned systems, focusing on swarm autonomy as a force multiplier. That means multiple drones or robots can work together more effectively, even in contested environments where traditional systems struggle.
### Real-World Partnerships
The company works closely with the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI) and the Norwegian Armed Forces. So their solutions are being shaped by real operational needs, not just theory. That's a big advantage when you're building defense tech.
### International Expansion
"EIFO invests in Six Robotics to accelerate defense innovation that can benefit Denmark and our allies. The company's hardware-agnostic drone swarming and autonomy platform is at the forefront of the technologies that will be decisive in the future of warfare. We wish to strengthen the Nordic collaboration and support that the company plans to set up activities in Denmark later in 2026," says Sara Sande, Managing Director, Partner, and Head of Direct Thematic Venture at EIFO.
### What's Next?
With the Seed round closed, Six Robotics plans to accelerate across all fronts. They'll build both technical and operational capacity nationally and internationally. But they want to keep the speed and focus that got them here. That's a smart move, because growth can easily kill a startup's momentum.
"Norway has emerged as one of the most exciting defense technology and robotics ecosystems in Europe, and Six Robotics is one of the best examples of why. What the team has built already in this extremely critical space is remarkable, and we're excited to help scale it internationally," says Lars Jensen, Founding Partner at Scale Capital.
