Primo, a Paris-based AI platform that unifies device management, SaaS applications, identity and IT support, has raised €6.9 million ($8 million) in a funding round.
The funding round was led by California-based Headline and Global Founders Capital, the venture capital platform of Rocket Internet. The round also drew backing from Arthur Waller and Romain Niccoli, the co-founders and chief executives of French accounting platform Pennylane and planning software firm Pigment, respectively.
“Many AI tools can answer a question; very few can act reliably at the core of a company’s information systems. Primo has a structural advantage: the platform already brings together the context, the integrations, and the rules needed to execute IT operations end to end with truly autonomous, operational, and secure agents,” said Jonathan Userovici, Partner at Headline.
Founded in 2022 by Martin Pannier, Primo has built a unified platform that brings together a company’s devices, SaaS access, employees and IT support desk. On top of that unified data layer, the startup now offers AI agents designed to carry out complex, repetitive IT processes end-to-end, from onboarding new hires to offboarding departing staff, including managing access rights along the way.
The company has signed up more than 400 customers, spanning startups, scaleups, and small- and medium-sized businesses with between 50 and 2,000 employees, across ten countries. Its client list includes ASL Airlines and Attio. Primo said its revenue has quadrupled year over year and has now passed €3.4 million ($4 million) in annual recurring revenue.
Primo argues its success is built on the ability of its IT agents, which are more than conventional AI assistants capable of only answering questions or suggesting a course of action. Primo’s AI agents can execute work directly, since the platform already holds context such as employee details, devices, applications, permissions, and internal policies, along with the integrations needed to act across a company’s systems, all while operating within the guardrails each customer sets.
According to Primo, when a new employee joins, an agent detects the event in the HR system, then autonomously orders hardware, pre-configures the computer, assigns SaaS access based on the employee’s role, and opens a welcome ticket. When someone leaves the company, the same logic runs in reverse, revoking sensitive access immediately.
“IT has always been seen as a cost centre that companies simply endure. We are building the opposite: a platform where IT becomes a lever, and where AI agents handle the repetitive work while teams focus on what matters. This funding round allows us to take the next step: enabling our customers to deploy AI agents that execute these processes end to end, with all the traceability and control they require,” said Pannier, co-founder and CEO of Primo.
Primo said the fresh capital will go toward hiring and international expansion, as the company works to put autonomous AI agents at the centre of corporate IT operations. With international customers already accounting for more than half of its user base, Primo also plans to deepen its presence in markets where it has already established a foothold, including the UK, Germany, the Benelux countries and the Nordics.
