Obsero, a British AI search platform, raises $1.2M in seed funding led by SFC Capital and its own customers to build AI agents that help brands get visible in ChatGPT, Gemini, and other AI assistants.
### A Small Round With a Big Signal
Obsero, a British AI search platform and consultancy, just raised โฌ1 million (about $1.2 million) in seed funding. The round was led by SFC Capital, but here's the interesting part: several of Obsero's own customers put money in too.
That's not something you see every day. When the people who pay you for a service also want to own a piece of the company, it says something a pitch deck never could.
Mike Logue, co-founder and CEO, put it plainly: "When customers put their own money into your business, it tells you something no pitch deck can." He added that AI is changing how people find brands faster than any shift he's seen in marketing, and most teams are still flying blind.
### What They'll Do With the Cash
Obsero has three main plans for the funding:
- Build their first specialist AI agents, trained on their own GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) playbook
- Double the size of their engineering team
- Speed up go-to-market efforts
It's a focused plan. They're not trying to boil the ocean. They're taking what they've learned and turning it into a product that any marketing team can use, not just the ones who can afford a dedicated specialist.
### The Bigger Picture: AI Search Is Heating Up
Obsero's raise isn't happening in a vacuum. It's part of a wave of investment flowing into European startups that help brands show up in AI-powered search and marketing tools.
Just this year, several other players have landed serious funding:
- Searchable (UK) raised โฌ11.9 million (about $14.3 million) to expand its AI-led search performance platform
- geoSurge (London) secured โฌ10 million (around $12 million) to tackle how brands are represented inside generative AI systems
- DOJO AI (Lisbon) raised โฌ5.1 million (roughly $6.1 million) to grow its AI marketing platform and push into the US
- Revnu (Manchester) got โฌ2.6 million (about $3.1 million) to scale its AI-driven sales and marketing automation, which also includes generative engine optimization
Add Obsero's $1.2 million to the pile, and you're looking at roughly โฌ30.6 million (nearly $37 million) in disclosed investment across this space in 2026 alone. That's not pocket change.
### Why This Matters for Brands
Andy Francos, co-founder and CPO, has spent his whole career in organic search. He says he's never seen the ground move this quickly.
"Much of what worked in SEO still matters, but AI engines weigh sources, context and credibility in new ways," he explains. "Brands that assume their old playbook will carry over are already losing ground."
That's the real issue. AI assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google's AI Overviews are becoming the new front door to the internet. If someone asks an AI for a recommendation and your brand doesn't come up, you're invisible. And most companies have no idea if they're being mentioned or not.
Obsero was founded in 2025 by Logue and Francos, who met at IG Group back in 2019. They watched AI assistants start answering the questions people used to type into Google. Brands had no way of knowing whether they were being recommended, or what to do about it.
So they built a platform to fix that. In its first year, Obsero says it has tracked and analyzed over 10 million AI answers. Its clients include Zopa Bank and Pepperstone, and it works with agency partners like IDHL and Silverbean.
### The Investor's Take
Ed Stevenson, Fund Principal at SFC Capital, sees a clear opportunity.
"AI assistants are quickly becoming the new front door to the internet, and brands need to know whether they're being recommended," he says. "Obsero combines proprietary technology with senior expertise, and its plan to productise those learnings into specialist agents gives it a clear path to scale."
He calls Logue and Francos "precisely the kind of founders we want to back."
That's a strong vote of confidence. And with customers investing alongside the lead investor, it's not just talk. It's skin in the game.
### What's Next
Obsero's immediate focus is turning its consulting know-how into AI agents that can scale. The goal is to let every marketing team apply the same insights that used to require a specialist.
If they pull it off, they won't just be helping brands keep up with AI search. They'll be setting the standard for how it's done.
