Mistral's 12 Connectors include zero European startups. That's a strange look for a French AI unicorn โ and Europe has plenty of platforms ready to fill the gap.
Mistral, the French AI unicorn, has a problem it may not have noticed. Of the 12 companies it lists as available Connectors โ the ready-made integrations that let its AI talk to outside apps โ not a single one comes from Europe. For a company flying the French flag, that's a strange look. It also raises a bigger question about whether Europe's software scene is keeping pace.
Here's the thing, though: the omission says more about Mistral's product roadmap than about Europe's talent pool. The continent is stacked with software platforms that could slot right in, many of which have raised serious money over the past few years.
### What Connectors Actually Do
If you haven't used them, Connectors are basically bridges. They let Mistral's assistant reach into services like Gmail, Slack, Notion, GitHub, and Stripe. Once linked, you can ask the AI to pull information, dig through records, or โ with permission โ take action across those apps without hopping between tabs all day.
So who from Europe could join that list? Plenty. Here are four standouts worth watching.
### Attio: The CRM Built for This
London-based Attio, founded in 2019 by Nicolas Sharp and Alexander Christie, raised about $48 million in August 2025. It's an AI-native CRM that keeps customer data, sales pipelines, and workflows in one place.
Why it fits: Attio already supports a REST API, webhooks, and OAuth. A Mistral connector could let sales teams pull customer records or update pipeline info just by asking.
### Cloudsmith: Package Management With an API Ready to Go
Belfast's Cloudsmith, founded in 2016 by Alan Carson and Lee Skillen, closed a roughly $67 million Series C in April 2026. It manages, distributes, and secures software packages and repositories.
Its REST API could plug into Mistral's coding tools. Developers might inspect repositories or review supply-chain policies through AI-assisted workflows โ a natural fit.
### Factorial: The All-in-One Business Platform
Barcelona's Factorial raised about $140 million in June 2026, valuing the company at roughly $2.3 billion. It started in HR and has grown into expenses, projects, and training.
With an API and OAuth integrations already in place, a connector could help managers check leave requests or review admin workflows. Its breadth makes it a strong candidate.
### Mews: Hospitality's Open Door
Amsterdam-based Mews raised about $277 million in January 2026. It runs a hospitality operating system covering reservations, operations, guest management, and payments โ and it already offers a Connector API.
That API gives Mistral a ready-made route in. Hotel operators could eventually query bookings or guest data through natural language.
> The real story isn't that Mistral skipped Europe. It's that Europe has more than enough to offer โ if anyone bothers to look.
### The Bigger Picture
Mistral's connector lineup is still young, so this gap may close on its own. But the pattern matters. European startups have the APIs, the funding, and the customer bases to be first-class AI integrations.
What they need is visibility. If Mistral wants to be Europe's AI champion, building its connector ecosystem from homegrown platforms would be a smart place to start.
- Attio โ CRM and sales pipelines
- Cloudsmith โ developer tooling and package security
- Factorial โ HR and business operations
- Mews โ hospitality management
Four names. Four obvious fits. The question is whether Mistral notices before someone else does.
