Málaga-based Atomic One just raised $6.5M to expand its AI operating system for Amazon brands, automating up to 80% of operational tasks like pricing, PPC, and inventory.
Running an e-commerce brand is a juggling act. You're constantly tracking inventory, tweaking ad campaigns, adjusting prices, and trying to keep up with logistics. It's a lot, especially when you're doing it for multiple product lines or across different marketplaces.
That's the problem Atomic One is trying to solve. The Málaga-based company just closed a two-tranche financing round worth $6.5 million (€5.6 million), and the money is going toward expanding its AI-powered operating system that automates the heavy lifting for online sellers.
### What Does Atomic One Actually Do?
Think of Atomic One as a digital operations manager that never sleeps. Founded in December 2021, the company has built an autonomous layer for Amazon brands. Instead of relying on humans to make hundreds of micro-decisions every day, Atomic One deploys specialized AI agents that handle the grunt work.
These agents cover a lot of ground, including:
- **Pricing:** Automatically adjusting prices based on market conditions and competitor activity
- **PPC (pay-per-click) advertising:** Optimizing ad spend to get the best return on investment
- **Inventory management:** Ensuring you never run out of stock or get stuck with excess
- **Logistics and supply chain:** Streamlining operations from warehouse to customer
According to the company, its platform can automate up to 80% of the operational tasks that typically consume a founder's day. That's a huge win for business owners who'd rather focus on strategy, product development, or just getting some sleep.
### The Growing Complexity of E-commerce
Here's the thing: e-commerce has gotten insanely complex. A successful brand isn't just about having a good product anymore. You need to analyze millions of data points daily to make smart decisions about pricing, inventory, and marketing. Even the largest global companies are struggling to keep up with this volume of information. For small and medium-sized businesses, it can be a major roadblock to growth.
Atomic One's platform currently integrates 13 specialized AI agents that work together to collect, process, and execute decisions that traditionally required human intervention. The company says it's already developing new agents to expand the platform's capabilities further.
### Who's Backing This Vision?
This round isn't just about the money; it's about the credibility that comes with the investors. Arcano Partners, through its Impacto AndalucĂa InnovaciĂłn y Desarrollo SICC fund, added another $770,000 (€660,000) to its investment, bringing the fund's total commitment to $2.9 million (€2.5 million). The round also includes private and international investors.
What's interesting here is the public backing. The Impacto AndalucĂa fund is one of the vehicles selected by the European Investment Bank (EIB) to manage the AndalucĂa R&D&I and Digital financial instrument. That means this money is partly financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Regional Government of Andalusia. It's a strong signal that public institutions see value in what Atomic One is building.
José Luis Bustamante, CEO of Atomic One, put it simply: "Running an e-commerce brand requires analyzing millions of data points and making hundreds of decisions every day. Optimizing those decisions is increasingly beyond the capabilities of any human team. Our platform collects and analyzes that information, makes decisions, and executes them autonomously. The result is greater profitability for our customers."
### What's Next for Atomic One?
The fresh capital will be used to accelerate the next phase of growth. That means further developing the AI operating system and expanding the team based in Málaga. Currently, the company employs 13 professionals specializing in artificial intelligence, software engineering, data science, product management, and marketing.
For e-commerce founders, this is a trend worth watching. The shift toward AI-driven operations isn't just a passing fad; it's becoming a necessity for staying competitive. Atomic One is positioning itself at the forefront of that shift, and with this new funding, it has the resources to push the envelope even further.
