Paris-based Lucis raises $20M from Singular, General Catalyst, and Y Combinator to expand its AI-powered preventive health platform that analyzes blood biomarkers for personalized recommendations.
Lucis, a Paris-based startup that blends blood biomarker analysis with artificial intelligence to deliver personalized health recommendations, has raised $20 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Singular, with participation from General Catalyst, Y Combinator, and several high-profile angel investors.
This latest investment follows a $8.5 million Seed round in December 2025, pushing the company's total funding to $28 million. The fresh capital will fuel expansion across Europe and continued development of Lucis's AI-driven health companion app.
### What Makes Lucis Different
Instead of waiting for symptoms to appear, Lucis takes a proactive approach. The platform analyzes over 110 blood biomarkers across key systems like metabolic health, hormones, cardiovascular risk, inflammation, and nutrient levels. Then its AI engine translates that data into actionable advice.
"We've seen the devastating impact of late-stage diagnosis first-hand," said Maxime Berthelot, co-founder and CEO. "The science is already there; what's missing is a system designed to act before symptoms appear."
### Real Results, Real Engagement
Early data from Lucis's growing user base of over 10,000 people shows promising outcomes. Among users who completed a six-month follow-up, 75% improved at least three biomarkers without medication. More than 80% opted to retest, suggesting strong engagement.
Here's a striking stat: during initial testing, 99.9% of users had at least one biomarker outside the optimal range, often without knowing it beforehand. That's a powerful reminder of how easily potential health risks can slip under the radar without regular monitoring.
### A Platform Built for Scale
Founded in 2025 by Maxime Berthelot and Baptiste Debever, Lucis has already expanded to over 10,000 users across France, the UK, Ireland, and Portugal. The company has conducted more than one million biomarker tests and formed partnerships with major laboratory groups like Eurofins and Randox.
The company's AI-driven health companion app uses longitudinal data and medical context to provide personalized advice on nutrition, supplements, lifestyle adjustments, and follow-up testing. Recommendations are continuously refined as new data becomes available and are reviewed by physicians.
### The Vision for European Preventive Health
Jeremy Uzan, co-founder and GP at Singular, sees Lucis as a category winner. "Europe's preventive health category will be won by platforms that unite clinical credibility with AI at scale," he said. "Lucis has moved with remarkable velocity, reaching 10,000 users in under a year."
With the new funding, Lucis plans to expand into Spain, Germany, and Italy by the end of 2026. The team of 20 across engineering, clinical, growth, and operations will continue investing in personalization, longitudinal monitoring, and clinical safety.
### The Bottom Line
Lucis is betting that prevention can become the default, not a privilege. By combining biomarker data with AI-driven insights, the company aims to catch health issues before they become serious. The early results suggest this approach resonates with users who want more control over their health.
