GTA VI could take nearly 45 hours to download on slower broadband connections, leaving gamers waiting almost two days to play.

If you're still stuck on an older broadband plan, you might want to start your GTA VI download now. According to recent reports, the game could take nearly 45 hours to download on slower connections. That's almost two full days of waiting before you even get to press start. ### Why This Download Is a Big Deal Modern games are massive. GTA VI is expected to be one of the largest releases ever, with file sizes that could easily exceed 200 GB. If your internet speed is on the lower end—say, 10 Mbps—you're looking at a very long wait. Here's a quick breakdown of how download times can vary: - **10 Mbps:** Around 45 hours (nearly two days) - **50 Mbps:** About 9 hours - **100 Mbps:** Roughly 4.5 hours - **500 Mbps:** Under an hour These numbers assume ideal conditions. Real-world speeds are often slower, especially during peak hours when everyone's online. ### What This Means for Gamers For many, the excitement of launch day could turn into frustration. Imagine taking time off work, only to spend it watching a progress bar. That's the reality for a lot of people with slower connections. But it's not all doom and gloom. There are a few things you can do to speed things up: - **Download ahead of time:** If pre-loading is available, start it as early as possible. - **Use a wired connection:** Ethernet is almost always faster and more stable than Wi-Fi. - **Pause other downloads:** Make sure nothing else is hogging your bandwidth. - **Upgrade your plan:** If you can, a faster internet package might be worth it for this one. ### The Bigger Picture This isn't just about GTA VI. As games get bigger, download times are becoming a bigger part of the experience. It's a reminder that infrastructure matters. Not everyone has access to gigabit internet, and that gap can affect who gets to play what, and when. So, if you're planning to dive into GTA VI on day one, check your connection now. Otherwise, you might be waiting a lot longer than you'd like.
