Estonian AI Startup Roleo Raises $3.1M to Revolutionize Job Hunting

Estonian AI career agent Roleo raises $3.1M to expand across Europe, helping tech pros find opportunities without the job search grind.

Roleo, a personal AI career agent from Estonia, just closed a $3.1 million seed round to expand across Europe. The company helps tech professionals find career opportunities without the usual grind of searching and applying. The round was led by Baltic venture capital firm Practica Capital, with participation from Nordic VC Inventure. Total funding now sits at $3.7 million. ### Why Roleo Thinks Job Hunting Is Broken "Most people spend years building their careers, but only actively manage them when something goes wrong or they decide it's time for a change," says Janer Gorohhov, co-founder and CEO of Roleo. "Meanwhile, great opportunities come and go, often without the right people ever hearing about them." Roleo's answer is a personal AI agent that keeps an eye on the market for you. It learns what you want and brings relevant opportunities to your attention. The goal? Let you focus on doing great work without missing out on what could come next. ### The AI Recruitment Gold Rush Roleo's funding is part of a bigger wave of European investments in AI-powered recruitment and workforce tech in 2026. In September alone, London-based Jack & Jill raised $37.1 million for its AI agents connecting jobseekers and employers, while Belgium's Spott secured $19.6 million for recruitment software. Other notable rounds include $6.4 million for France's HrFlow.ai, $3.6 million for the UK's inploi, $1.9 million for Belgium's Ringtime, $19.4 million for Spain's Orbio, and $5.7 million for Iceland's 50skills. Together with Roleo, these eight rounds represent roughly $97 million in newly announced funding. ### How Roleo Works Founded in 2025 by Janer Gorohhov (co-founder of identity verification unicorn Veriff) and Vahur Hansen (former early engineer at Wise and co-founder of Membo), Roleo is designed specifically for technology professionals. The platform learns about your experience, ambitions, and preferences. It then identifies relevant opportunities across Europe and connects you directly with employers when there's mutual interestโ€”no job application required. Unlike traditional job boards, Roleo understands not just your skills and previous roles, but also your expectations around compensation, flexibility, responsibilities, and future development. And you stay in control of your visibility, personal information, and whether you want to pursue a particular opportunity. Roleo's user base already includes people from Google, Amazon, Stripe, and Spotify. The service is free for professionals. ### What Investors See "We saw potential in the Roleo founders โ€“ their proven operational experience and grounded, yet very high ambition," says Donatas Keras, Partner at Practica Capital. "They came with a clear short-term plan and a long-term vision that's easy to relate to. Leading this round was a natural fit for us, and we believe they are the team best positioned to set a new standard for how people build their careers." Practica Capital closed an $85 million Baltic-focused fund in 2024, which likely helped mobilize this investment. ### The Bigger Picture AI is already changing how we handle everyday tasks, from managing information to organizing our finances. Yet career management still requires people to do most of the work themselves. Roleo wants to change that. "We want to build something that stays with you throughout your career, learns what matters to you, and helps you make better decisions over time," Janer says. "The goal isn't to have AI make career decisions for people, but to make sure they have the right information and opportunities at the right time." With this fresh funding, Roleo plans to expand its reach across Europe, helping more tech professionals take control of their careers without the hassle.
