DITTO, a scientist-founded menstrual health company, raised $6M to expand research and supplements. Led by FoodLabs, it targets severe PMS and PMDD with evidence-based solutions.
DITTO, the scientist-founded menstrual health company, just announced a $6 million Seed round. They're using the cash to speed up research projects, expand their supplement line, and reach more women who've been dismissed or left without real answers.
The round was led by FoodLabs, with help from returning investor EKA Ventures and a group of angel investors.
Alice van der Schoot, co-founder and Chief Scientist at DITTO, puts it bluntly: "Too many women are told their concerns are normal, or that they're being dramatic, and sent away without answers. Until DITTO, there was nowhere for women to find research about what they were going through, or science-led solutions built for the reality of what they were living."
### Why DITTO Exists
Menstrual health has been under-researched for decades. Women with severe PMS or PMDD often hit a wall: vague advice from doctors, no real data, and a sense that their pain isn't taken seriously. DITTO wants to change that by combining neuroscience and nutrition into products that actually work.
"We do the research ourselves," says van der Schoot. "We decode the studies explaining what women are dismissed for, and combine neuroscience and nutrition to build products grounded in evidence. That's why our community has grown the way it has. Women finally feel heard, are equipped with information to advocate for themselves, and they've found something that works."
Founded in 2024 by van der Schoot (a neuroscientist and nutrition scientist) and Adam Kugler (ex-Brand Director at L'Oreal), DITTO sits at the intersection of research, community, and targeted solutions. Their supplement blends clinical trials with advanced nutrient delivery tech, and they translate emerging research for a community of over 300,000.
### The Science Behind the Supplement
DITTO's first product, Premenstrual Daily, is designed to work proactively. Instead of just treating symptoms after they hit, it helps the body and brain build resilience to hormone shifts before symptoms take hold.
- Ingredients are chosen based on the strength of evidence behind them.
- They're encapsulated using innovative nutrient delivery technology for maximum absorption.
- Clinical trials on the finished formulation showed 88% of women had significantly reduced symptoms.
The company has completed an initial clinical trial and is starting to share results. A larger trial and a real-world evidence study are now in process. DITTO's research goes beyond its supplement too, tackling overlooked areas like the links between PMDD and ADHD.
### What Investors See
Flo Breiner, Operating Partner at FoodLabs, explains: "DITTO is a research platform that develops and sells products. In the market of menstrual health, clinical evidence is becoming the price of entry, and the first company to set that standard is the one everyone else gets measured against. With proprietary delivery technology, a community of 300,000 women, and a loyal customer base with strong retention, DITTO is that company."
### The Bigger Picture
This funding isn't just about one supplement. It signals a shift: women's health is finally getting the scientific rigor it deserves. For too long, menstrual symptoms were brushed off as "just part of being a woman." DITTO is proving that's not good enough anymore.
With more trials on the way and a growing community, this startup could change how we talk about—and treat—menstrual health for good.
