Copenhagen's Plinto raises $3.1M to help finance teams catch errors before they cost you. Their AI agents automatically find and fix financial discrepancies.

Copenhagen-based Plinto just raised €2.9 million (about $3.1 million) in pre-Seed funding to help finance teams catch errors before they hit the bottom line. The round was led by People Ventures and Emblem, with a group of business angels joining in. Plinto's platform uses AI agents to automatically find, investigate, and fix financial discrepancies. Think of it as a tireless controller that never sleeps. ### The Problem: Manual Checks Miss Too Much In large organizations, the sheer volume of financial transactions makes manual review impossible. Controllers resort to spot checks or end-of-month reconciliations, leaving plenty of room for errors like incorrect prices, duplicate invoices, or mismatched deliveries. These mistakes often go unnoticed until after the money has left the account. "Many of our customers work with low margins, so even small errors can quickly add up," said Nermina Suljevic, co-founder and CEO of Plinto. "The problem is that they're often only discovered after the money has been paid. We want companies to catch and fix errors before they hit the bottom line." ### How Plinto's AI Agents Work Plinto's agents sit on top of the systems companies already use—ERP, documents, bank feeds, and collaboration tools like Slack or Microsoft Teams. When a transaction is flagged, the agents don't just alert someone; they investigate, gather evidence, and follow up with the right people inside and outside the organization. For example, an agent can contact a supplier about a wrongful invoice, request a credit note, or prepare a correction for approval. It's like having a junior controller who never gets tired and never misses a detail. > "Companies have systems that record every single transaction, but checking whether those transactions actually match agreements and rules is still largely manual. We're building AI agents that find deviations, investigate them and take action, so errors get fixed." – Jakob Nielsen, co-founder and CDO of Plinto The results speak for themselves. One customer uncovered around 430 deviations per month in a single part of the business. Another had a duplicate invoice submitted under a different supplier name identified in the same minute it arrived. ### Built by Former Peakon Team Plinto was founded in early 2025 by Nermina Suljevic, Jakob Nielsen, and Sebastian Rehnby, who previously worked at Peakon, the employee engagement platform acquired by Workday in 2021. CTO Andreas Garnæs is also a Peakon alumnus. Together, they bring deep experience in product development, engineering, and scaling commercial operations. The platform integrates with major ERP systems like Microsoft Business Central, Xero, and Visma, and connects to major Scandinavian banks plus over 2,700 other banks. It covers both order-to-cash and procure-to-pay workflows. All data is processed and stored within the EU, and Plinto never uses customer data to train AI models. ### What's Next for Plinto? The pre-Seed funding will fuel product development, help bring on more enterprise customers, and support Plinto's first move outside Denmark. The company aims to bring its AI agents to enterprises across Europe and beyond, helping them find financial errors in real time. For finance teams tired of manual checks and costly mistakes, Plinto's approach could be a game-changer. After all, catching errors before they hit the bottom line is every controller's dream.
