Cognitive Credit secures $40M to scale its AI-powered credit analysis platform, helping analysts make faster, more accurate decisions with audit-grade data.

Cognitive Credit, a London-based company that provides corporate credit data, analytics, and AI technology, has just secured a €35.73 million ($40 million) strategic growth investment. The round was led by global growth equity firm Summit Partners, with continued participation from existing investor ETFS Capital. This new funding comes on the heels of an €8.93 million ($10 million) Series B led by ETFS Capital in September 2024, and a €7.17 million ($8 million) Series A led by Fitch Ventures in November 2021. So, what's driving all this investor confidence? Let's dig in. ### The Problem: Credit Analysis Was Stuck in the Past Founded in 2017 by Robert Slater, Cognitive Credit was built by ex-credit analysts who experienced firsthand the limitations of relying on tools designed for equity markets. At the time, there was no credible alternative for the credit space. The company set out to address what it saw as a long-overdue digital transformation in corporate credit markets—one of the world's largest asset classes, with nearly €12.5 trillion ($14 trillion) raised in 2025 alone, according to the OECD's Global Debt Report 2026. ### The Solution: AI-Powered, Audit-Grade Credit Models Cognitive Credit's integrated web application supports the entire credit research workflow. It combines verified data, advanced analytics, and domain-specialist generative AI capabilities. The platform is powered by proprietary data developed through the analysis of hundreds of thousands of financial reports, giving analysts on-demand access to audit-grade credit models and primary reporting libraries across 3,500+ corporate bond and loan issuers in the US, Europe, and emerging markets. > "High-quality data at speed and scale is critical to powering AI workflows that credit professionals will increasingly rely on for high-stakes decisions," said Chris Bon, a Partner at Summit Partners who has joined the Cognitive Credit Board of Directors. ### Why Investors Are Betting Big Cognitive Credit's emphasis on verified data and auditability has clearly struck a chord with institutional clients. The company says all outputs are fully auditable and traceable to source—a critical differentiator. This might explain why it powers analytical workflows for more than 80% of the top 25 global asset managers by AUM and all top 10 global debt league table investment banks. Summit Partners notes that Cognitive Credit has achieved 240% active user growth and more than doubled its global bond and loan issuer coverage. "Cognitive Credit is purpose-built for credit analysis and leverages institutional-grade technology to provide speed, precision, and auditability across thousands of issuers," added Bon. ### What's Next: US Expansion and New Products With this strategic investment, Cognitive Credit plans to accelerate its commercial expansion into the US and advance its next generation of products. These include: - **DealConnect:** An imminent launch designed to enable on-demand access to detailed credit models for private issuers that report via secure data rooms. - **Agentic credit analysis:** A pending deployment that will further automate and enhance credit analysis workflows. - **Continued issuer expansion:** The company plans to keep growing its coverage. "Demand for credit-specialist technology will continue to accelerate from here, and we are pleased to partner with Summit Partners on our next phase of growth," said Slater, founder and CEO of Cognitive Credit. "With the imminent launch of DealConnect, ongoing innovation in our AI deployments, and many additional capabilities planned for 2027, we're offering credit teams the highest quality data and analytics they require for differentiated analysis and high impact decision-making." For professionals in the credit markets, Cognitive Credit's rise signals a shift toward more reliable, AI-driven tools. And with this fresh capital, the company is poised to make even bigger waves on both sides of the Atlantic.
