Cognitive Credit secures $40M to scale its AI-driven credit analysis platform, aiming to transform how professionals analyze corporate credit markets.

Cognitive Credit, a London-based company that provides corporate credit data, analytics, and AI technology, has just secured a $40 million strategic growth investment. The round was led by global growth equity firm Summit Partners, with continued participation from existing investor ETFS Capital. This funding follows a $10 million Series B in September 2024 and a $6 million Series A in November 2021. ### Why This Matters Corporate credit markets are massive—nearly $14 trillion was raised in 2025 alone, according to the OECD's Global Debt Report 2026. Yet the tools available to credit analysts have long been stuck in the past, often borrowed from equity markets and ill-suited for the unique demands of credit analysis. Cognitive Credit was founded in 2017 by Robert Slater and a team of ex-credit analysts who experienced these limitations firsthand. They set out to build a purpose-built solution for credit professionals. ### What Cognitive Credit Does Cognitive Credit's platform combines verified data, advanced analytics, and domain-specialist generative AI to support the entire credit research workflow. It's powered by proprietary data derived from analyzing hundreds of thousands of financial reports, giving analysts on-demand access to audit-grade credit models and primary reporting libraries across more than 3,500 corporate bond and loan issuers in the US, Europe, and emerging markets. The product suite includes: - A web application for comprehensive credit analysis - An Excel add-in that streams proprietary financials directly into spreadsheets - A REST API for integration into institutional tech stacks - A Claude Connector that lets analysts query issuers and surface insights within the Claude environment All outputs are fully auditable and traceable to source, which is a critical differentiator for institutional clients. That emphasis on verified data likely explains why Cognitive Credit powers analytical workflows for over 80% of the top 25 global asset managers by AUM and all top 10 global debt league table investment banks. ### Impressive Growth and Future Plans Summit Partners reports that Cognitive Credit has achieved 240% active user growth and more than doubled its global bond and loan issuer coverage. "High-quality data at speed and scale is critical to powering AI workflows that credit professionals will increasingly rely on for high-stakes decisions," said Chris Bon, a Partner at Summit Partners who has joined the Cognitive Credit Board of Directors. With this investment, Cognitive Credit plans to accelerate its commercial expansion into the US and advance its next generation of products. These include the imminent launch of DealConnect, which will enable on-demand access to detailed credit models for private issuers that report via secure data rooms, and the pending deployment of agentic credit analysis. The company also plans to continue expanding its issuer coverage. "Demand for credit-specialist technology will continue to accelerate from here," said Slater, founder and CEO of Cognitive Credit. "With the imminent launch of DealConnect, ongoing innovation in our AI deployments, and many additional capabilities planned for 2027, we're offering credit teams the highest quality data and analytics they require for differentiated analysis and high impact decision-making." For professionals in the credit markets, Cognitive Credit's rise signals a broader shift: AI and data platforms are becoming essential tools for staying competitive. And with this fresh capital, the company is well-positioned to lead that charge.
