Cloudgeni Raises $1M for Safer AI Cloud Agents

Cloudgeni, an Oslo-based startup, raises $1M to build AI agents that secure cloud infrastructure. Founded in 2024, it already serves Hydro and Havila and partners with IBM.

Cloudgeni, an Oslo-based startup, just grabbed $1 million in seed funding to scale its AI agents that build and operate cloud infrastructure more safely. This fresh capital comes from a group of Nordic investors, including the byFounders Angel Collective, Norwegian VCs Startuplab and Antler, Remarkable's CEO Vegard Gullaksen Veiteberg, and serial entrepreneur Nicolaj Hojer Nielsen. ### What Cloudgeni Does Founded in 2024 by Iuliia Petryshyn Thuen and Davlet Dzhakishev, Cloudgeni builds an AI-powered platform that automatically detects, fixes, and proves the security and compliance of cloud setups. Think of it as a tireless automated guard that spots misconfigurations before they become problems. According to the company, cloud misconfigurations cause 99% of cloud security failures, and managing governance gets pricier every year. “We're glad to have smart investors backing our next phase,” said Thuen, co-founder and COO. “With our product validated in Norway, we're focusing on expansion across the Nordics and the US, where we just got our first paying customer.” ![Visual representation of Cloudgeni Raises $1M for Safer AI Cloud Agents](https://ppiumdjsoymgaodrkgga.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/etsygeeks-blog-images/domainblog-e9383020-6fea-4699-bb77-44f610d15a7d-inline-1-1780243357957.webp) ### The Problem It Solves Cloud environments are getting crazy complex. Keeping things stable without constant manual oversight is tough. Cloudgeni claims to prevent issues before they happen, fix them when they do, and provide continuous proof of compliance—all without adding extra DevSecOps work. “AI will move from being a support tool to an active operator of systems,” said Dzhakishev, CEO. “Our AI agents both build and operate cloud infrastructure. They're designed to be safe and reliable for the system owner.” ![Visual representation of Cloudgeni Raises $1M for Safer AI Cloud Agents](https://ppiumdjsoymgaodrkgga.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/etsygeeks-blog-images/domainblog-e9383020-6fea-4699-bb77-44f610d15a7d-inline-2-1780243362869.webp) ### Early Traction and Plans Cloudgeni already has big-name clients in Norway, like industrial group Hydro and shipping company Havila. They've also partnered with IBM. The team is expanding to support growth. This funding round shows strong belief from Nordic investors in Cloudgeni's approach. - **Investors**: byFounders Angel Collective, Startuplab, Antler, Vegard Gullaksen Veiteberg, Nicolaj Hojer Nielsen - **Key clients**: Hydro, Havila - **Partnership**: IBM - **Focus**: Automating cloud security and compliance without manual overhead The startup follows a DevOps approach, automating tasks that would otherwise need manual system operations. As cloud complexity keeps rising, solutions like Cloudgeni's could become essential for enterprises wanting secure, compliant infrastructure without draining resources.
