Calibre Raises $3M to End Health Guesswork

London HealthTech startup Calibre raises $3M to launch Causal Health Navigation, a proactive health membership combining diagnostics, clinical expertise, and causal AI to end health guesswork.

A London-based HealthTech startup has just stepped out of stealth mode with a mission to end what it calls the era of "health guesswork." Calibre has raised $3 million (โ‚ฌ2.8 million) in pre-Seed funding and launched a new category it calls Causal Health Navigation. This isn't just another health app. It's a proactive membership that combines diagnostics, clinical expertise, and causal AI to give you a clear picture of what's actually driving your health. ### The Funding Behind the Vision The round was led by Berlin's Amino Collective, with participation from Daybreak Ventures, Cocoa Ventures, and a group of experienced founders, operators, and medical experts. Notable angel investors include Gousto founder Timo Boldt and N26 co-founder Maximilian Tayenthal. That's a pretty impressive lineup for a company that's just starting out. ### What Exactly Is Causal Health Navigation? Calibre's approach is different from most health platforms. Instead of just tracking steps or calories, it digs into the underlying drivers of your health. The company connects your medical history, daily behaviors, and environmental context with the right diagnostic tests. Then, using causal AI, it figures out what's actually affecting your health and how to change it. It's like having a personal health detective who never sleeps. ### The Team Behind the Tech Calibre was founded in 2025 by a trio with serious credentials. Alexander Weber (CEO) was the former Chief Growth Officer at N26. Ben Levy (CTO) previously served as CTO at HealthTech companies Elvie and Manual. And Dr. Reinhold Innerhofer (Chief Medical Officer) is a physician and sports scientist. Together, they bring a mix of fintech growth expertise, HealthTech engineering, and medical authority. ### Why This Matters Now Here's the problem Calibre is trying to solve. Despite rising life expectancy, people in the UK now spend about 25% of their lives in poor health. A survey found that 74% of UK adults believe establishing good health habits is key to preventing future illness, yet 37% still struggle to know what their body actually needs. Many are turning to AI chatbots for answers, with 230 million people asking health-related questions on ChatGPT each week. But general AI tools aren't enough to deliver real health outcomes. ### What You Get for the Price Calibre's proactive health membership is available from $86 a month (โ‚ฌ79.30). That might sound steep, but the company claims it delivers a level of insight previously limited to elite athletes and the wealthy. The service combines clinician-led care with causal AI to give members an evolving health picture and a personalized plan to boost daily energy and address long-term health risks. - Diagnostics to uncover hidden health issues - Clinical expertise from real doctors - Causal AI that connects the dots - A personalized plan that evolves with you - No more guessing what your body needs ### The Road Ahead Calibre has applied to become a CQC-regulated provider in the UK, where all clinical care is currently delivered by its partner DocTap, a CQC-registered provider. The UK is its initial launch market, but the company has plans to expand internationally. If it can deliver on its promise, this could be a game-changer for how we think about proactive health.
