BetHog Raises $10M for AI Dealers in UK Crypto Casino

Edinburgh-based crypto casino BetHog raises $10M Series A and launches Sentient Studios for AI-powered live dealers. The round brings total funding to $16M.

Edinburgh-based crypto casino and sportsbook BetHog just announced a $10 million Series A funding round and launched Sentient Studios, a new B2B division that lets other casinos add AI-powered dealers to their live games. The round was co-led by Will Ventures and RockawayX, with backing from PCV, 6MV, Bullpen Capital, and Advancit Capital. This brings BetHog's total funding to $16 million. The company plans to use the cash to grow its own AI dealer tech and push Sentient Studios to operators worldwide. ### Why AI Dealers Are a Big Deal "We've tested our basic AI dealer over the past 6 months and discovered it is 10x more popular than its live dealer equivalent," says Nigel Eccles, CEO and co-founder of BetHog. "We've also seen better retention and player satisfaction." Think about that. Players actually prefer a digital dealer over a human one. That's a huge shift for an industry built on the appeal of real people dealing cards. ### The Bigger Picture: UK Gaming Funding BetHog isn't alone in attracting serious money. Other UK gaming companies are raising too: - Midnite, a London sportsbook and casino, raised $36 million in January 2026 to scale and expand internationally. - Minit Games, based in Hamburg, secured $2 million in March 2026 for its AI-driven short-form gaming feed. - Iconic raised $13 million in December 2025 for on-device AI in gaming. - Yaspa got $12 million in July 2025 for payment and identity services in regulated gambling. Combined with BetHog, these deals total over $73 million. That's not just one niche getting funded—it's a broad push across operator platforms, AI gaming tools, and gambling infrastructure. ### How Sentient Studios Works Today, most casino operators rely on third-party studios for live dealer tables. That limits how many tables they can run, what languages they support, and how much they can customize the experience. Sentient Studios removes those limits. Operators can scale table availability instantly, support more languages, and adapt games in real time without being tied to studio staffing schedules. It runs on a pure revenue-share model—no setup fees, no monthly minimums, no fixed contracts. That makes it easy for operators to test, launch, and grow new live casino experiences without upfront risk. Operators can also create unique dealer personas, branded environments, and premium experiences that feel fully their own, not shared across a supplier ecosystem. ### BetHog's Journey So Far Founded in 2024 by the creators of FanDuel, BetHog offers classic casino games, exclusive titles, and AI-powered live dealer experiences. The casino supports 14 languages and accepts 10 different cryptocurrencies. It's regulated and backed by top investors from sports, crypto, and gaming. Their first AI dealer, Sunny, launched in October 2025 and now speaks 12 languages. Sunny is an AI blackjack dealer that's become one of the most popular features on the platform. ### What This Means for the Future With Sentient Studios, BetHog is betting that software can replace traditional live dealer supply models. Operators get more control, flexibility, and scalability—and players get more personalized, always-available games. It's a smart bet. If the early data holds up, we're looking at a fundamental change in how live casino games are built and delivered.
