Copenhagen's TODAY raises $3M to bring AI agents that automate meeting notes, compliance docs, and sales coaching to financial advisors in DACH.
Copenhagen-based startup TODAY just secured €2.8 million (about $3 million) in Seed funding. That's a solid vote of confidence for a company that wants to put AI agents in the hands of financial and insurance advisors.
The round was co-led by High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) and InsurTech Gateway. SeedX, Lucid Capital, former HDI CEO Herbert Rogenhofer, and Tech11 founder Pierre Dubosq also joined in. This comes just over a year after TODAY raised a €1 million pre-Seed round. So they're moving fast.
### Who's Behind TODAY?
Michael Gackstatter and Artem Demchenkov co-founded the company in 2024. Gackstatter was a founding team member and CPO at CLARK, which became Europe's only profitable InsurTech unicorn. Demchenkov was CTO at Billie, a leading buy-now-pay-later startup in Europe. That's a serious pedigree.
"Michael and Artem combine rare experience in scaling financial services businesses with an exceptional ability to execute at speed," said Tizian Hoppen, Senior Investment Manager at HTGF. "As technological and demographic shifts make financial services sales increasingly complex and cumbersome, we are convinced that they are building the vertical AI layer that will remove this friction from sales professionals' day-to-day work."
### What Does TODAY Actually Do?
TODAY has built a full AI Sales Operating System for advisors. It works before, during, and after client meetings. The assistant transcribes meetings in real time, anonymizes the data, and stores no audio. Then it automatically generates IDD-compliant documentation using the advisor's own templates.
During live calls, a real-time assist feature surfaces objection-handling responses and next-best-action prompts. There's also AskTODAY, which lets advisors query their entire conversation history by chat. Think of it like having a super-efficient assistant who never forgets anything and always knows what to say next.
But there's more. TODAY also offers a simulation product. It's an AI training environment where advisors can have voice conversations with configurable AI customers across DISC personality profiles. And they earn IDD continuing education credits while doing it. That's a clever two-for-one.
### Why This Matters Now
Advisors are under pressure. Pension reforms are shaking things up. Market consolidation is accelerating. And regulatory compliance keeps getting tighter. TODAY addresses all of this with compliant AI agents that take administrative work off advisors' desks.
These agents transcribe client meetings, handle routine back-office tasks, answer incoming calls, and even coach advisors on their sales performance. So instead of drowning in paperwork, advisors can focus on what they do best: building relationships with clients.
"While AI reshuffles financial advice, we scale the human touch," said Gackstatter, co-founder and CEO of TODAY. "Our agents take over the admin, so advisors can spend their time with clients. With our strong investors on board, we will bring this to every advisory team in DACH."
### Traction and What's Next
Since launch, TODAY has grown to more than 3,500 advisors across large insurers, distributors, and independent brokers in the DACH region. That's Germany, Austria, and Switzerland for those not familiar with the acronym.
The new funds will accelerate development and commercial rollout of the agentic AI platform. The goal is to cover the entire front and back office across DACH. It's an ambitious plan, but with this team and these investors, it's hard to bet against them.
