Zurich-based Ahead Health raises $10M to expand preventive healthcare into Germany and the Netherlands, offering AI-powered check-ups with MRI and blood panels.
### A Big Bet on Prevention
Preventive healthcare is having a moment, and a Zurich-based startup just scored a major vote of confidence. Ahead Health, a company building a platform for proactive, personalized medicine, has secured a $10 million investment led by venture capital firms 3VC and RTP Global. That's on top of the $6 million they raised back in January 2026, also with RTP Global at the helm.
The timing isn't random. The company is using this fresh capital to expand beyond Switzerland, launching its services in Germany and the Netherlands. It's a clear signal that the founders believe their model works not just in one market, but can scale across Europe.
### What Ahead Health Actually Does
Founded in 2024 by former Google executives, medical doctors, and healthtech veterans, Ahead Health is trying to make prevention feel less like a chore and more like a routine part of life. The platform combines advanced blood panels, whole-body MRI scans, and an AI-powered system to create what they call a "doctor-reviewed check-up."
Here's the key difference: they're not just taking a one-off snapshot of your health. Instead, the platform is built around repeat testing over time. It tracks each person's health against their own baseline, which means it can catch meaningful changes early. That's a big deal because it could lead to detecting conditions like cancer, brain disease, endometriosis, or cardiovascular issues years before traditional healthcare might catch them.
The whole process is designed to be fast and digital. A full-body MRI scan and blood tests take just 30 minutes, and you get a personalized health plan afterward. No waiting rooms, no confusing lab results. Just actionable insights.
### Why Investors Are Paying Attention
Peter Lasinger, a partner at 3VC, explained why his firm decided to back this team. "We back only a handful of teams each year, looking for founders tackling the world's most essential causes," he said. "Ahead Health stands out because they combine a deeply mission-driven culture with absolute rigor and deep technical excellence."
That's high praise from a firm that's selective by design. The investors see this as more than just a healthtech app. They see it as a fundamental shift in how healthcare is delivered, moving from reactive treatment to proactive prevention.
### The Expansion Strategy: Partner, Don't Build
Ahead Health isn't planning to build a bunch of new clinics from scratch. Instead, they're partnering with established medical centers, radiology clinics, and doctors in Germany and the Netherlands. This approach lets them move fast while staying grounded in local clinical expertise.
Since launching in Switzerland, they've already built a network of more than 20 partner centers. The rollout in Germany starts with a comprehensive blood test that maps early signals around metabolic health, inflammation, organ function, and cardiovascular risk. Every result is reviewed by a licensed doctor and turned into a personal action plan. Imaging like MRI will follow soon.
### What's Next
If you're in Munich, you can book a preventive check-up starting today. In the Netherlands, people can join the waitlist now, with the full rollout expected in August.
Nick Lenten, CEO and co-founder, summed it up best: "We built Ahead in Switzerland to prove that prevention can be rigorous, fast and useful, and it works." With this new funding and expansion, they're betting that the rest of Europe is ready for that same message.
